Show House Breakfast Nook & Kitchen

Hey, everyone!

I’m going to start lumping a few things together since we already have another house finished that I need to blog about! Let’s get right down to it, shall we?

The most obvious change was getting rid of the wall and bank of cabinets between the breakfast nook and the family room. We got rid of the dark purple color and wood trim, carried the 6.5″ hickory throughout and added a fun light fixture. We made sure that the light fixture hung high enough that this space could not only be used as a breakfast nook, but also as a study/open office so you wouldn’t hit your head on the light fixture if there wasn’t a table under it!

Obviously a lot was done in the kitchen! We put in a brand new island, got new door and drawer facings, new hardware, appliances and lighting. I LOVE the counter top to ceiling large subway tile – it makes everything look so clean and bright! And how about those custom circle-sawn pine floating shelves?! Aren’t they fabulous?

This kitchen has to be one of our favorites we’ve done. A lot of love and hard work went into this one! Lots of late nights of bonding and priming and sanding and priming and sanding and painting cabinets, too 😉

What do you think? Is this your favorite part of the Show House?
